The Belmont Ghost Town is located 46 miles northeast of Tonopah, Nevada and was established in 1865. It operated as a silver mining boomtown and is now a historic district that was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1972. The iconic ghost town, unlike others, has many buildings still intact. Visitors can access the ghost town via US-6 and State Route 376. The haunting rumors surrounding this ghost town are likely due to its mining days, when it was common for workers to get hurt on the job or even lose their life because of it. Some of these souls may have never left the area.
